  1. I think it's interesting that Paul says in verse 12, "you are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections." I think Paul is encouraging them to be more accepting of what he is saying, and to value it more. I know that I am the one that limits my spiritual growth. God is always ready and able to deliver and save. Even though we say that we are waiting on the Lord in prayer, he is really waiting for us to be ready to receive what he has in store.

It is an amazing promise that God would make his dwelling among us, and walk among us, and be our God! Yahweh is God no matter what, but when he is "our" God, that is something else. I think this means that God is with us and for us, and he will fight for us and care for us. He promises later that he will be a father to us, and we will be his sons and daughters. I know this relationship with God can be closer than the one I have with my dad, but I have to obey these commands to "go out from their midst, and be separate from them" and "touch no unclean thing." I need the Lord's help to be able to do this. I want to be separate to the Lord, but I don't always know the practical steps to take. I need to ask! Please help me to ask, and seek the ways to be separate from them and touch no unclean thing.
